Health and fitness tips for aspiring models

If you are already involved as a professional model or just looking to break into the modelling industry, it’s important to take care of yourself. There is a lot more to that than keeping your weight steady and making sure your hair doesn’t start splitting at the ends. Some things that you can do are easy and quick, some take a little more commitment, but they are all worth it.

First of all, you have to eat right to look good. That means a healthy, balanced diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables. They’ll help keep your skin clear, for a start. That is one of the absolute necessities for all models. Fruits like plums, apricots and peaches are tasty and they contribute positively to your digestive system, helping to flush fluids through your body instead of retaining them.

Drink plenty of water. 6 glasses a day is about the minimum, especially if you’re doing some exercise.

Most models will want to get into shape to a lesser or greater degree.  Running and swimming are two of the best exercise methods to give you the slim profile you’re probably after. Even walking more will be helpful to your general health, but there is no need to go overboard. Start with half an hour of exercise every other day and go from there.

A little exercise will help you loose weight if that’s what you’re after – do remember that not all modelling agencies are after super skinny size zero models though. There are also benefits for models of all sizes and styles – better posture through improved muscle tone, for example.
